Microneedling

Microneedling helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and can have a positive effect on uneven skin tone and acne scars. Often providers will do Microneedling with PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) which helps stimulate the skin on multiple levels by encouraging cell renewal and promoting collagen and elastin production.

About Microneedling

Microneedling may help with acne, hyperpigmentation, scars, skin laxity, crepey appearing skin, and other facial concerns. It may lead to softer, younger-looking skin with fewer signs of aging.

What can I expect?

It is a relatively quick procedure performed (mostly) on the face, it can take anywhere from 15 minutes up to an hour depending on the treatment area. There is little down time and patients are usually fully recovered by the next day. The skin is pricked with tiny sterilized needles which cause your body to make more collagen and elastin, which thickens and tightens the skin, resulting in a smoother appearance. PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) can also be applied after these micro injuries to further rejuvenate the skin.

Targeted areas

Microneedling is performed most frequently on the face but can be used all over the body to improve the appearance of skin.

How long does it last?

Changes can develop over the course of a few days or several weeks after treatment. Visible improvements can appear for up to six months after the original treatment. People may need up to 4 to 6 treatments to see the results they are looking for.
